La Locanda Degli Iblei is found just off the delightful Piazza della Repubblica which is located at the end of Corso Mazzini, the road linking Ragusa Superiore to the old city of Ragusa Ibla. The hotels building is the traditional dark red colour and is clearly visible from the Piazza della Repubblica, which is also home to the imposing Chiesa del Purgatorio. The hotel occupies a structure that dates back prior to the fifteenth century when it was constructed on the walls of the ancient Palace DiQuattro. It has an atmosphere of tranquility and well being partly attributable to its thick stone walls and rich history. The property enjoys panoramic views of Ragusa Ibla and the adjacent gardens; the sound of the bubbling "fume" (stream) San Leonardo that flows in front of the hotel completes the scene. The hotel has 10 guest rooms which are spacious and elegantly furnished in traditional style. Of particular note are the chandeliers, unique to each room, which are handcrafted of Murano glass, Bohemian crystal, bronze peltrato and embellished Capodimonte porcelain. Every room has a private bathroom en suite and a small balcony perfect for an aperitivo whilst savouring the wonderful views of Ragusa Ibla. La Locanda Degli Iblei is ideally located as it is situated on a small quiet street, with easily accessible parking immediately adjacent to the hotel and yet it is only a few short minutes walk from the stunning Piazza Duomo and the bustling central restaurant and shopping area of Ragusa Ibla.
